American Legion Riders
of Honors Award

The American Legion Riders of Honor Award is a distinction that is considered to be the highest form of award that is given to a American Legion Riders member, This award connotes that the recipient has gone far above and beyond the call of duty for the American Legion Riders organization with their dedication, drive and determination in helping to make the American Legion Riders prosper and grow. Only those people who have met these criteria should be nominated for this award.

1.     One nomination per Chapter per year to be forwarded to the ALROH Board. Each nomination must be endorsed by signature of a Chapter Officer.  

2.     The nominated person must have been a full American Legion Riders Member for a minimum of 3 years. 

3.     A letter outlining the qualifications and accomplishments of the nominee must be sent via US Mail with the Nomination Form to the confirmation board, which is comprised of past ALROH winners.  Please ensure you retain a copy for your records. No electronically submitted (email, FAX, etc.) nominations will be considered, and no return notification will be provided. Nominations may be submitted between 1 November and 31 April only. Any nomination mailed between 1 May and 31 October will be considered as late mailings for the previous award, and will not be considered nor returned. No return notification will be provided inthe event a nomination is received late. There is one (1) possible ALROH recipient per 100 Chapters shown on the NALRIC Chapter Locator (ie, if the NALRIC Locator shows between 500 and 599 Chapters at the 31 April, there will be a maximum of 5 winners of the Honor Patch awarded that year. There are currently over 800 Chapters listed, but less than 900, so there will be a maximum of 8 recipients for 2008. Note that this number can change prior to 31 April of each year. Also note that all available awards may not be awarded by the confirmation board. All determinations of the confirmation board will be final. Nomination submissions become the property of the ALR and will not be returned to you.

4.     Winners of the American Legion Riders of Honors patch will be announced at the American Legion Riders National Party (Romp).
