Operation Iraqi Freedom = Operation Iraqi Compassion
These pictures have been being passed along in email with the comment that our "mainstream press" will never show such images. Some would say they are posed or coerced. I say nonsense.
Remember that those we send into battle are young human beings - our neighbors, friends, and relatives - with empathy and compassion. When they see a child or a young mother in enemy territory, they do not see them as enemy combatants, but as human beings enduring one of the greatest hardships one can endure - warfare in their homeland. And they offer comfort where and how they can, as evidenced here.
These are our soldiers in action. Let's never forget what they are sacrificing to be in harm's way instead of putting YOU there through inaction. Most would agree that we would rather not have the life circumstances of the Middle East here in the US, and all that prevents it is the action being taken to push the terrorist organizations and the countries who support thme back.
God bless our military. I, for one, am thankful that they are there for us, as they have been each time they've been called.
